Mastic Beach is a village in Brookhaven that goes out into Moriches Bay. The location of the village makes it an ideal vacation spot or summer residence for those interested in water activities such as fishing, swimming and boating. Hiking and camping are also popular activities. Visitors can enjoy shopping and dining at any of Mastic Beach’s fine establishments. Many historic homes in the village still stand. Visitors can still see the William Floyd House and learn more about the house’s historic resident who signed the Declaration of Independence.
Mastic Beach’s community is close-knit. The village has recently taken on additional administrative responsibilities formerly provided by the town of Brookhaven and residents have risen to the occasion to show their pride in the village. With the beauty, historic sites and variety of activities in Mastic Beach, it is understandable why residents are so proud to call Mastic Beach home.
